Letter of Resignation from Adam Wagner, Executive Director of Twilight Theatre

From the Board of Directors:

Dear Twilight Theatre Supporters,

The board of directors of the Twilight Theatre would like to let you know that Adam Wagner has turned in his resignation as Twilight Theatre Executive Director effective January 15, 2017. We would like to thank Adam for his service and dedication to the theatre during his time here. When Adam was hired, he faced the daunting task of completing the building process, securing equipment, building policies and procedures, and getting the doors open in a short amount of time; and coming from primarily a performing arts background, he had to quickly learn movie theatre business. Very few people would have given the time and energy to put the organization together the way Adam has. Be sure to stop by and thank Adam before his last day.

Moving forward, your board of directors will be looking at all options, thinking outside the box, and beginning the hiring process. Adam has laid an excellent foundation for the next director, which will allow the organization to transition seamlessly, with Adam’s assistance, and continue to offer quality affordable entertainment for the people of rural southwest Kansas. We thank you for your past support and look forward to many more years of great experiences at the Twilight!

Sincerely, Twilight Theatre Board of Directors

A note from Adam to the Membership:

I am proud of all of the things we’ve accomplished to get the Twilight Theatre open and running, but after careful consideration, I have made my decision to pursue new opportunities. Every leader must decide when it is time to leave center stage and pass the baton; I am confident this move is in my best interest, as well as that of my health and my career.

I wish all the best for Twilight Theatre in the future. Thank you again to the patrons, employees, volunteers and members for trusting me to guide this organization through tremendous growth, change, challenges, and achievements. I leave with no regrets – only excitement for what new leadership might be waiting in the wings to further the Twilight’s mission. We’ve all worked hard to establish a strong foundation for the Twilight; I urge you to continue, and if possible, to increase your support, your passion, and your commitment to ensure the ethical and well-planned growth of the theatre to realize its full potential. It’s Twilight’s time!

***FOR THOSE GUESTS WHO MISSED “SULLY”***
Due to the storm on Saturday morning, we suffered a failure to our audio processor. Our trusty projectionist, Mike McBeath, was able to figure out a workaround for those that stuck through the showing of Sully to the end.

To accommodate guests who didn’t stay, we will honor their tickets at the Sunday, September 25th 2:30pm matinee and we have ADDED another showing Sunday evening at 6:30pm. Any guest with a ticket for Saturday’s screening may bring it to either of these showtimes for free admission. If you cannot attend a screening of “SULLY,” we will honor your ticket for another movie of your choice until December 31, 2016.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate how understanding all of our patrons were.

We are thrilled to report the Twilight welcomed 931 patrons* during the month of April.

Programming featured screenings of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Miracles From Heaven, Zootopia, The Boss and Some Like It Hot.  We experimented with presenting a “sensory-friendly” screening of Zootopia for families of children with special needs. There were over 60 patrons who visited, some traveling fifty miles. It was incredibly successful and families really appreciated it. We hope to do more sensory-friendly screenings for as many children’s movies as we can. On April 23d, we celebrated our 1-year anniversary by hosting an Annual Fundraising Gala with a Roaring 20s theme. There were over 130 gangsters and flappers in attendance, and the entire event raised $27,000.
